THOSE WHO CLAIM that sleep is for the weak probably have never strength-trained a day in their lives. For optimal gains, you also need the right sleep, as a full eight hours can significantly boost recovery. As we get older, however, it becomes increasingly difficult to get seven hours of uninterrupted sleep, let alone eight. That’s why you need a near-perfect sleep setup, and it all starts with the right mattress.

At Men’s Health, we highly recommend Saatva mattresses—they’re premium, luxurious, and affordable. We’ve tested every mattress on this list, at least in some capacity, and we’ve ranked Saatva’s flagship mattress as the best overall mattress for years running. Amazon’s October Prime Day is getting all the press, but right now, Saatva is giving the e-tailer a run for its money—you can take 20 percent off all mattress purchases during Saatva’s October sale, thanks to exclusive Men’s Health links below. The full savings are available through October 12, and the discount applies automatically to your cart.

With our links, you stand to save hundreds more than you would otherwise. If it sounds a little too good to be true, it’s not— we’re here to help you get your sleep back on track—the right way. You won’t find that on Amazon.

For those unfamiliar with Saatva’s game, it’s simple, really: The company offers premium white-glove delivery and setup of your new mattress and will even remove your old one at no added cost. Customer service is exceptional, and Saatva does one thing better than most other mattress makers: It offers a full 365 days to test your mattress.

What Is the Best Saatva Mattress?

While we can vouch for most Saatva mattresses, we highlighted a few in particular. You can regularly find the Saatva Classic at the top of our annual mattress picks, and we love its versatility as a customizable sleep option at a reasonable price. You can choose the firmness level (plush soft, luxury firm, or firm), mattress height, and foundation type to suit your preferences. As someone who’s both a side and back sleeper, the luxury firm (essentially the brand’s medium-firm option) turned out to be the perfect choice. I have a nagging injury in my left shoulder, and since I switched to the Classic, I haven’t woken up with a sore shoulder once—a regular occurrence with the last few mattresses I’ve owned. Designed with breathability and cooling in mind, the Classic is among the most affordable and reliable mattresses in Saatva’s all-star lineup. And at over $400 off on a queen, thanks to our exclusive offer, you’ll get an already reasonably priced luxury mattress for even less.

For those struggling with back pain, the Saatva RX Mattress is another fantastic option. It’s a firm mattress that comes in two firmness levels (relaxed firm and firm), and its ultra-durable five-pound memory foam construction provides solid support for those with lower back issues. The motion isolation technology also makes it a perfect option for couples, especially if one of you often wakes up in the middle of the night.

Larger-bodied men will appreciate the HD Mattress, a cool, cushioned option that also helps support healthy spinal alignment, soothing and, to an extent, preventing chronic back issues.

For those who prefer memory foam sleep tech, we love the Contour5, Saatva’s latest addition. It combines the brand’s proprietary gel-infused memory foam with an ultra-breathable organic cotton cover for one of the most comfortable sleeps you’ll ever have.

If you’re looking for a truly customizable sleep experience, the Solaire adjustable mattress is a top option. While it is a little on the pricey side, it features 50 precise firmness settings on both sides for a queen or larger. It boasts ideal pressure relief in almost every setting and a dual-sided construction that offers either a latex or memory foam feel on each side, allowing you to switch up your sleep setup every night if you choose.

Of course, you really can’t go wrong with any of these premium options, especially with over $500 in potential savings. If you want to make a wholehearted attempt to revamp your overall health, and by extension, your sleep schedule, now’s a great time to grab one of these editor-approved Saatva mattresses (along with our favorite Latex Pillow) and take the first step in making that a reality.

Is Now a Good Time to Buy a New Mattress?

Absolutely. Saatva’s sales are usually reserved for holiday weekends, but the brand decided to throw its hat in the ring during October Prime Day. For all intents and purposes, that’s a holiday, anyway. Plus, the savings are akin to those on the major holiday shopping weekends.

When Do Saatva Mattresses Go on Sale?

While there are a few smaller sales throughout the year, the best Saatva sales typically occur on holiday weekends and tentpole events, such as Black Friday, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Labor Day. You can now throw Prime Day into the mix. This is certainly one of Saatva’s best sales of the year, and just in time for the cozy fall season.

Can I Return My Saatva Mattress?

The short answer is yes. If you’re not satisfied after a year of use, you can return it, no questions asked. Just pay a $99 pickup fee, and you’ll have your original payment fully reimbursed.

Mattresses are backed with a lifetime warranty. If your mattress is deemed “defective” within the first two years of purchase, Saatva will replace your mattress foundation with a new one, again, no questions asked. After three years of use, the company offers to repair and restore your mattress foundation for a $149 processing fee. In other words, Saatva backs its products 100 percent.
